It was a historic game — Team USA versus Team Canada for the chance to win Olympic Gold at home. The Calgary Fire Department’s Aquatic Rescue Team is trained to peak-performance levels in both fire and water rescue. This technical team is best known for its ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies on or near Calgary’s rivers, lakes and canals, while promoting safe practices and enjoyment of the City’s waterways in all seasons. Specially trained boat lieutenants command the vessels patrolling Calgary’s rivers, working in tandem with divers and other rescue personnel. Two lucky winners will accompany the Calgary Fire Department’s Aquatic Rescue Team on a jet boat ride on the Bow River.
